Best night in Television History 10/7/2012!!!!!!

I am never one to try and influence people to do something drastic and spend a few hours to do something. But... I recorded DVR'd... all of the cool shows that I like. And what happened after that was truly one of the best nights of entertainment I had ever experienced. I do not ever think I have had so much fun without drugs or females involved... ever. If you are interested in watching what I watched. I can list for you what the shows.. and episodes were. I promise if you watch all of these.. your mind will be blown that on a random sunday night... all of these shows were played within about a 2 hour time frame and you can only watch whats on now.. So I recorded the others and watched thru the night and was amazed.

This is the list in what order I think they are best.. altho I watched them in completely different order. Which might have had effect on how I liked them and felt.. Oh well.. try em like this. They were great.

#1. Homeland - Season 2 Episode 2 - Torrent : HERE
#2. Boardwalk Empire - Season 3 Episode 4 - Torrent : HERE
#3. Hell on Wheels - Season 2 Episodes 9-10 finale - Torrent : HERE
#4. Dexter - Season 7 Episode 2 - Torrent : HERE
#5. Once Upon A Time - Season 2 Episode 2 - Torrent : HERE
I know I know.. I got baked and watched it b4 bed but ^^
#6. Treme - Season 3 Spisode 3 - Torrent : HERE

Now seriously... I know there were other great shows premiering too. But these were really good in my opinion and I wonder if anyone else can find a date in the past with something better on. I am sure it has happened.. but I would love to see it. Other shows that were good.. I just dont watch. But these appeal to me so I like em. What you think and is there a better TV night than a sunday?

Intro's from Movies/T.V. Shows!

HOW TO SAMPLE MOVIES/SHOWS FOR INTROS!

PART #1. Preparing to steal the proper audio files.

I always used a few different methods for my movies and shows for extracting audio. Recently I found an awesome way to get this done and I wanted to share it with everyone. I usually have the movie or show on my computer that I wish to sample, or I use one from YouTube. I download the files illegally from a torrent site like PirateBay or another similar site or I let the files stream from YouTube and just take the audio that way.

After you download the files and have them on your computer... You will need a way to pinpoint the exact part of the file you want, and you need to be able to take it from the video file.

PART #2. Getting the proper software to steal the audio files.

I used PirateBay again and I looked up the software called Audio Hijack Pro and I downloaded that. This software lets me record any software that is running through my computer and leaving the speakers. I use this and make sure that the "System Audio" option is set for what I record... this will record everything that runs through your system. I have an MBox and run Pro Tools so I just make sure that whatever sounds are going through my MBox get recorded into the Audio Hijack Pro recoding bin.

PART #3. Chopping/Editing the stolen audio files.

I use my Pro Tools to drag and drop the audio files that I recorded. I then edit them like you would edit other audio files. I chop out the parts I don't want to use, and I make sure that I clean up and chop out the good parts that I like. After I bounce down the high quality wav files from the audio. I sometimes chop and arrange the samples with the Recycle software to make the audio hit perfectly on the grid.. or I just use the wav file and leave it kind of "as is" and let it roll like that.

PART #4. Using the audio files.

I always use the memorable or relevant parts of the samples in my beats. I use the parts that make sense with my beat topic, or I use the parts that everyone knows and loves from famous quotes in classics. After I sift through the movies and shows and find the perfect parts to use, I just edit them and get them all ready to go with the methods I mentioned above. If you have a good vision of the samples melting into your beat and becoming one... this should be a fairly easy process. But just in case you are not on the same level that I am and you cant fully understand... I will show a few examples of what I mean.

These are links to sampled intros and parts of beats that are highly manipulated to make my beat have substance and meaning.

Link Beat : Cap Pealer
YouTube Sample : Sopranos "Pussy Murder" scene
Sample Explanation : This sample is from the episode of the Sopranos when Tony, Sil, and Pauly take Pussy on to the boat.. the "Stugots" to let him know that they found his wire and their suspicions of him ratting to the Feds was a true one. Tony is pissed because he loved Pussy so much and let him slide too many times before. His "Billy Bass" singing fish dream gave him the inclination that Pussy was a rat and he ran over and found that wire in his cigar case, and then he was literally swimming with the fishes off the boardwalk in Jersey.

Link Beat : Superman
YouTube Sample : Superboy - The Great Kryptonite Caper
Sample Explanation : This sample isnt from a Superman comic cartoon. It was actually used to help a little of my wordplay in a verse on this track. I wanted to have someone sound like they were "dissing" Superman on this little sample. I actually play the sample throughout the beat after the hook and before the verse drops back in. I think this adds some much needed flavor and helps grab the attention of the listener too. This was one of the more enjoyable tracks that I had made and there are a ton of little samples that are added to make this sound sick.

Link Beat : You Ain't Shit
YouTube Sample : Juice
Sample Explanation : This sample is something that I had always had in my mind for the basis of a beat. I actually used this sample as the influence for making this beat. It is a sample based track that I thought had a good feel and direction with the intro attached to it. The sample is from the movie Juice when Tupac is talking to Q about backin up Blizzard when he got popped. Shit is such a powerful scene and I always loved how great this turned out. You would never think that dude is a rapper after you see this because Pac actually acted his ass off for this part. I loved this movie and I was super impressed with how awesome this turned out. How could you not use this for a hip hop beat? Tupac + sick content = perfect intro.

Those are a few of the ones that I wanted to share with you and show how a sampled intro can actually give your beat direction and add some mood to the feel. This is something that you have to make happen if you are a producer. Not every rapper has the great intro ability. I myself suck at intros and hooks, so this is why a bunch of my beats had these "sampled" intros and the "sampled" hooks too. I am not the most creative on my own, but when it comes to being creative with samples... I am ahead of the pack.

SAMPLERAMA 10 - Basement "Crack" Edition

Sorry for taking so long to post another pack of samples, but I had come to realize that if I kept uploading tracks at that same rate... I would run out and the blog would die. I need to space out my posts and I appreciate all of the love and support from everyone so far. This is another sure fire 5 pack of crack fresh out the pyrex and ready for the pipe. These are more old school soulful samples than what I normally use and post. There are all older sounding and older feeling tracks in this pack that can be flipped many different ways. Thanks us later for these and keep coming back.

SAMPLERAMA 09 - THE 7TH TRACKS

There isn't any rhyme or reason to the files packed into this siiiccccckkk folder but they do have one thing in common. Track #7 on their respected LPs are held by this group of songs and they are all smooth as hell too. I seemed to always love the 7th tracks on albums and in the 70s and 80s that was mostly the last or 2nd to last track on the album. Only recently have albums had more than 8 tracks and I seem to like those old 8 track ways, but evolution is sweet and im a technology buff so i'll go with the flow on this one and probably live to see the day where albums are only sold digitally, and if they are sold they might have up to 50 tracks on them which is crazy to imagine, but totally possible and doable. enough blabbing tho... Check out these sure fire flippers and post some comments with links to your creations after you use these. Thank us later and enjoy the choppin!

SAMPLERAMA 08 - Smoveness 02

Sorry for the delay on this post everyone. I was super busy and sick this week... but now Im back at it digging digitally and getting yall some more SMOOOOOOVVVVEEEE ass samples to flip. Sometimes I want to just go out on a date with a girl... and show up jamming this kinda music, but the scene has to be right too. You need to be driving an older 70s boat of a car like an old lincoln towncar, or a caddilac sedan, wearing some nice ass suit with no tie and a gold pendant egg resting in your chest hair nest ready to hatch and just be fly as all hell. Hahahhaa, but truly, I love this music and jam only 70s and 80s music on my iPod. Yall are going to enjoy these tracks, they are great. Thank us later!

SAMPLERAMA 07 - Smoveness 01

This pack is going to have a few installments to follow... and I was thinking maybe 5 total, so keep on the lookout for Smoveness 2, 3, 4, and 5. I added some smooth and sexy... or as I would say... smoove n sexy... haha.. samples to this pack. These are samples I would flip for a Fabolous, or Ricky Ross style track that would be appealing to the ladies. I always look for the samples that are more along these lines, rather than the hardcore or funky style that other people might prefer. I hope some of yall will get some good usage from these.. and if you are a fan of the SAMPLERAMA packs, this one will not disappoint. Thank us later.

Email Marketing with $0

Starting from the ground and working up!

I see many people making beats and working up from nothing. I will explain to everyone how you can make money online with $0... as long as you have internet, a beatmaking background and a computer. In this music/beatmaking market... the whole idea is to gain targeted emails of beat buyers and get a snowball effect going to the point that you gain more and more clients. People think you need money in order to make this happen, but you can simply get emails if you are smart and innovative. I will give a few tips to beatmakers on how to gain emails from the internet with $0 and very little knowledge of anything.

#1. Twittersearch.com

Use twitersearch and use the advanced option. I use this and type in things in the fields that will look thru twitter for emails of musicians. I use different target words and exact phrases to make this work. "Exact phrase" use things like.. need beats, need producer, looking for beats, submit beats, send beats to, email beats, send beats... you get the point... then in the field that says "any of these words" I will type email hosts.. like.. yahoo, aim, aol, rocketmail, ymail, gmail,..... etc and I will enter a bunch of those.. and then I click enter.. and on the pages that pop up.. you can root thru the email addresses with a program called an email extractor. I use something that I paid for.. but email extractors are easy to get for free online depending on your OSX. You can use something online too. Like this.. http://emailx.discoveryvip.com/ and enter the entire txt of the twitter pages (select all on the page and copy, then paste the pages into the extractor).. and extract the emails. I get 100s a day by using these kind of methods and I build my email list.. not by asking people to join my list.. but just by finding people and adding them to my list. If they do not want to be on it.. then I remove them later.

#2. Google.com

Yes... this also works. I will use the advanced search feature on google and use all of the same ideas above to weed thru the webpages and find emails. Some of your google searches will even go thru email extractor sites like the one I listed above and it will take emails from other peoples extracted lists. I will try to incorporate more keywords into the google searches just to widdle down the wide array of things that google searches thru. I will use a word like.. singer.. or rapper.. or something along those lines to assure that I am getting music related emails.

#3. Forums... like Rocbattle.. or LetsBeef

This is more of a manual manipulation idea.. But this will gain you emails. I will go on forums of musically related sites and I will create a fake name and lie to people about giving free beats away to people. I will ask for emails of rappers who are interested in a collaboration or a free beat.. and whoever responds, you will know that they are interested in music of your making.. and that is half the battle. Now you simply steal the email and add it to your list. This is a slow, but sure fire way to find targeted musicians who are interested in your style of music.

#4. Emails sent to your email address...

Most people see this happen and they never take advantage of it. How many times a week are you emailed by someone who isnt smart enough to properly market.. and they send emails to you with their entire email list in the reply section of the email? I see this a few times a week.. and I take all of those emails and just add them to my list. I am not 100% sure if they are all targeted beat buyers, or targeted to be interested in my beats.. but, they will get you a few sales here and there if you take them from people who seem to be musicians or into the music that we are making.

I hope this little but of insight can help some of you get your ideas off of the ground and into the air. I have been marketing for about 2-3 years and we have done some super innovative things to gain 5000+ sales in only 4 years of making beats. I do not have all of the secrets.. and making great music does help.. but these little pointers.. although time consuming... will help you get sales if you have decent quality music. I dont mind helping and telling everyone this because its the new way to market with no money.. so everyone is doing this in some way or another, and I will not influence enough people that this will affect my pockets.. so.. Thank me later after you make your 1st few bucks off my ideas here.

SAMPLERAMA 06 - The K.O. Pack

Another installment of SAMPLERAMA fresh out of "The Basement"..... so everyone who is in need of samples.. or if you are on beat block... get ready to make some bangers. This is another super dope kit with some well known artists... and some not so well knowns too. I call this the "Knock Out"(K.O.) pack because it has some heavy hitting samples that will slam once flipped. Everyone who gets this will be pleasantly surprised when they open and hear whats inside. Its all gems ready for the chopping block. Thanks us later for digging you some dopeness out the crates. Enjoy!

BOI 1DA Sound Kit

This kit is sick. Learn the name, learn the face... because this dude is going to be making hits for a looooong time. I love this kit and use it in many of my beats. If you do not have this exact kit, you should download it and use the shit out of it. I bet everyone will find a few favorite little sounds in this mammoth of a drum kit. There are over 1400 sounds and they are all decent or good quality. Thank us later for this awesome kit.

SAMPLERAMA 05 - The Library Edition

These samples are all from a library record called Quadriga - Q3 and they are super duper dope. I will eventually use all of these samples myself and I am pretty sure that 99% of the people who hear this will have new sounds entering their little ears. Every sample head should bow down, and kiss my penis after this post. I have yet to get many thanks for these posts, but I will remain a good dude and post to help the needy who can no longer find gems themselves. Thank me later... really assholes. Thank me. haha. Enjoy!

Into the fashion world.....

Tampa Temp emails me and says... A few of my friends are using your music in a fashion video.. I said.. YESSSSS. Haha. I dont know if many of you know this about me.. (Jesse).. but I am into nice clothing and little stuff like that. I spend all my access and supplementary cash on shit like $50+ fitteds, and nice hoodies. I take pride in my wardrobe. So.. This was super cool to me, I hope to get more tracks in commercial ads like this one. Shout out to M.E.S.U. and check out their site on http://mesu360.com/ to show love.

Divine Seven - Still Jonesin'

Sheeeeeeet. When I saw this video online I was like.. Waaaaow. Haha. I sold this track to Sev back like 2 years maybe for $25 exclusively. He was one of the 1st dudes to ever show up and chill in the lab. We had like, zero equipment but mad ambition. Now we are way different and Sev is still killin shit locally doin his thing and didnt miss a lick. We def need to do more work together now that we have been on the scene here in Pittsburgh a while. I know that some new collabo with us would be sick.. but go show some love to Sev and say thanks for this dope video on his twitter @divineseven or check his Facebook.

SAMPLERAMA 04 - DeBarge

We had to turn it up a notch.... not down.. in tempo. We had been posting somewhat slow sampled from our east coast nature of music, so we decided to post some equally dope but somewhat up-tempo tracks compared to our other posts. I hope you all enjoy these samples and I would love to hear what you do with them. If I was sampling these, I would more than likely pitch them down a few semitones rather than speed them up. Sometimes I tone them down, then I freeze the timing on the samples buy pitch them up... so they sound slower than normal, but the vocals are all squirrelly and high pitched. That does give the effect of digitalization to the sound, and mess the quality up, but sometimes it sounds fine. Try it on some of these if you never did that before. Pro Tools users... Parametric Sound Shifter.. set the tempo = in both spots... then drag your semitones on the far right up... presto! Thank us later for these samples.

Comrade - Strollin'

Check out the video for Comrade's track "Strollin" produced by BasementBeatz. If anyone else makes a HD video with one of our beats, we will post it on the blog if you submit it to Support@BasementBeatz.com to our email.

J Clash - Requiem For A Dream

This is one of the dopest lyricists to ever grace a BasementBeat... J has used these beats and put on some killer shows and the "Cut You Down" video is really sick too. (CUT YOU DOWN LINK)

On this joint we produced tracks 2, 3, 7, and 8... and if you listen to them, you will be super duper impressed. The way J flows makes me not only be able to see the words turn into images as he raps... but it makes me want to make more music. That is what I like... this is motivational. Download that Dat Piff link above and say thanks to J for his hard work on this tape on twitter @JCLASH or on his Facebook.

SAMPLERAMA 03

This is a post that only has samples from one of my favorite harmony groups... The Persuaders. This is that soul music that gives me chills and puts a smile on my face. These ooohs and aaaaahs are soo so dope for samplers. I myself did not use any of these yet... but they are in a folder that I plan on sampling in the near future. So... Thank me later for my kindness and digging skills. Enjoy!

Cam Thomas - First Period

Check out this mixtape from the super talented rapper, Cam Thomas. We have the "album titled" track (#4) and tracks numbered 11, 12, and 14. So download this to support dope music and check out Cam on twitter at @Cam_Thomas. This album is one of my favorites that I had ever been a part of. When it was released and I saw we had 4 tracks on the tape.. I was very happy. This is something that is different from the music I usually get back from artists, so I love it. Cam killed this album so go to Hot New Hip Hop and click that link above to download the album and show some support. Thank Cam later.

RECYCLE

I was on www.Rocbattle.com in the forum and saw ClintonPlace ask for a way to sample in Reason. I think this is the best way possible to sample on any software program. I use this program here... Recycle... to chop up wav files. After you chop up to 92 slices, you can save the file or add fx to the chops. When u save the chopped wav file, the extension turns into a .rex file that can be opened into Reason's sampler called Dr. Rex. It is a primo way to arrange sample chops and I have never used anything that allows you to manipulate a sample more. Not even an MPC 5000 can mess with a Dr. Rex player. Thank us later.

YELLOW TOOLS - Pure Drums

I use these drums from time to time. I wanted to share another good refill that is ready to go in an nn-xt sampler, nn-19 sampler. or into the Reason Re-drum sampler. I like this kit because the drums are pretty clean, and they have a high quality sound to them. I hate drums that sound low, but peak out and muddy up your mix in the end, just because teh initial quality of the sound you used was so shitty. Most people need better sounds to work with and they need to throw away their shitty sounds and that always make a mix cleaner in the end. These drums will help anyone who uses Reason.. get a little bit of that clean drum feel that you might have been looking for. Thank us later.

Check out VG on his new single D.O.W.N. and show some love on Twitter @youngspittaVG. This is a super dope track that was recorded, mixed and mastered by BasementBeatz. This is going to be on his up and coming mixtape that will be released in a few months. Thank VG for his hard work.

Le-Double-Ny - DREAMS Mixtape

This is so so dope and one of my favorite joints that we ever were a part of. We are responsible for the beats on the tracks "Gettin It" and "Expire" on this mixtape. My homie Lenny didnt disappoint on this tape. When I first heard the expire track I thought that Shaka (hook singer) sounded like Lloyd a lot. I was really impressed with the way the tracks turned out and really liked the mix on the vocals. They are above the beat and really give it a pro sound. Everyone will enjoy this. Thank Lenny on Twitter for his hard work. @LEDOUBLENY and check his site www.Le-Double-Ny.com.

TAMPA TEMP - EMPTY STAGES Mixape

We just recently started working with Temp and I have to say that I have been nothing short of impressed with everything I have heard from him. This is the kind of music I love to jam. Real hip hop music with some smoothness and hardness too. We produced the tracks "Ain't No Grave" "Ticking Away" "Gymnasts In The Nude" "Need A Dollar" and "No Good" on this joint. This mixtape makes my eardrums happy.. haha, no joke. I rap myself and Temp came through and bought all the beats I had written songs to already, so we have similar taste. No wonder I love this joint. Thank Temp for his hard work on Twitter @813Temp and download the mixtape above every day for the next 2 years to boost download stats.

DO THE MATH

This refill is only 23 MB.... but this is amazing. I do not know how it possibly sounds this sick with only that many MBs, but I seem to think it doesn't add up. I use these leads and synths all the time in my beats. They are great for techno or club beats that need that very fat and wide bassy synth sound. This refill will blow your mind and I wouldn't post up any bullshit so take this and thank us later.

RALFI PAGAN SAMPLES

This is some good ole "Chicano Soul" style sample shit. I love Ralfi Pagan and listen to him often... he takes up many megabytes on my iPod. I get nice vibes and love jamming his albums when I go on my family cruise every year. This is very suiting for going to the beach or heading out on to an island. I love the ooohs and aaaahs that come on these tracks and you should have no trouble loving the way these sound. I did not sample any of these but may do so in the future. You should capitalize on our kindness. Thank us later.

J-Lie - Ears First, Hearts Next Mixtape

Here is an amazing mixtape with an array of talented musicians. J-Lie used our beat "The Life" for this mixtape and it turned out really nice. Grab this from the Mixtape Factory link if you want to show support, or just download it the easy way if you are all about just hearing it fast. Either way show some love and support to J-Lie at... @JLie on Twitter... anwww.facebook.com/OfficialJLie for his Facebook account. Enjoy!

SAMPLERAMA 02

More sampled tracks that made us money. Here is what I think to be... the dopest that SAMPLERAMA can ever come up with. I randomly select these and add them into folders. This list is one that will never disappoint and the samples almost sell themselves for how great the original productions turned out. Some of my favs are in here like Judy Mowatt, Willie Hutch, and Eddie Floyd. So download this and tell your mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, nieces that BasementBeatz got more ear crack for them to fall in love with. We are too kind. Thank us later.

SAMPLERAMA 01

This post is a 5 sample pack from beats that I had sold in the past. I wanted to share these with everyone in hope that you could also make some $$$ off of the samples. If you are a music producer and you sample... this is a must have. There are 5 tracks that are all different in style but very appealing to people with "musical" ears. Let me know if you sample any of these because I would love to hear what you do with them. Thank me later!

The Refill

I created this "wav/rex" only refill to make my drum situation easier. I was sick of looking through 1000s of drums to find the good ones. So I sifted through over 100 gigs of one shot drum sounds, stabs, vocals, and loops and made this kit. The picture is one that can show you how unique this refill is by seeing how unique our little buddy looks. You know he is goofy looking, but you also know he is capable of taking over the world! haha. Check this kit and leave some feedback if you like it. We are selling actual sounds too. In the next 2 months we will release 2 BasementBeatz DOPE SOUNDS Refills that are custom BasementBeatz combinator instruments for Reason 1,2,3,4,5 or 6. This is essential in my opinion. Post any music you create using this refill!

Major Bank Mixtape!

We produced the last 2 tracks on this mixtape and it is def pretty dope. Everyone should check out the link, and also download the tape if you like what you hear. Check out the southern swag of Major Bank on this sick tape and support all local hip hop!
